Wildridge Education's Education’s ‘Math and Music’ earns

Parent’s’ Choice Silver aAward

Newark, Vt. (November 15, 2001) – Wildridge Education, a division of Wildridge Software, Inc., today announces that Math & Music, the second unit of its A Bigger World interdisciplinary curriculum earned a prestigious Parents’ Choice Silver Award. Math & Music is honored as an innovative and content-rich program to supplement middle- and high-school classroom curriculum. Math & Music, a stand-alone unit within A Bigger World, emphasizes the practical value of fundamental math skills by relating these skills to the basic elements of music.

"This Parents’ Choice Award is a significant honor," said Lawrence Bangs, president of Wildridge Education. "It demonstrates the value that parents place on educational content and allows us to expose A Bigger World to a broader audience of parents and educators who want to challenge students with problem solving within an integrated curriculum."

The Parents’ Choice Awards seal of approval is awarded to products that meet and exceed standards set by educators, scientists, performing artists, librarians, parents, and yes, kids themselves. The Foundation’s purpose is to search out and recommend fairly priced products that help kids grow – imaginatively, physically, morally and mentally – and that are fun, safe, and socially sound.

For additional information about the awards and a description of the significance of each awards category, consult the Parents' Parents’ Choice Foundation’'s wWeb site at (www.parents-choice.org).

About ‘A Bigger World’

A Bigger World, designed for middle and high school students, is a challenging interdisciplinary curriculum with multiple subjects seamlessly integrated around a period of history. The study of history is interwoven with literature, art, music, grammar, science and mathematics to help students understand the interrelated nature of our world and to learn how these subjects have been viewed throughout time.

Math & Music includes interactive, self-paced tutorials that explore the musical scale in relation to ratios, harmony and the physics of a vibrating string. The program involves a challenging mix of readings, multimedia exercises, hands-on experiments, Internet investigations, and written assignments to help students understand the physics of sound and how we hear. Math & Music also includes numerous print resources, an illustrated student text, math workbook, student guide with assignments, and a detailed teacher’'s guide with answers and suggestions. About Parents’ Choice

Founded in 1978, Parents’ Choice is the nation’s oldest not-for-profit consumer guide to quality children’s media: books, toys, audiotapes, software, television, videos, and magazines. The Foundation’'s mission is to impart solid information about the vast array of children’'s media products and toys that are on the market; helping parents and caregivers of all achievements and backgrounds make informed decisions about which new products are right for their children.

In addition to administering the prestigious Parents’' Choice Awards, the foundation has initiated a number of literacy programs including ""Reading is Power"" and ""What-Kids-Who-Don’'t-Like-To-Read, Like-To-Read." Since its inception, the Parents' Parents’ Choice Foundation has donated more than 425,000 books, toys, computer software, and videos to schools, libraries, and pediatric hospitals via corporate grants and the generosity of public-spirited volunteers.
